About the Mornington Business Collective

The Mornington Business Collective (MBC) is the public-facing identity of the Mornington Chamber of Commerce Inc., the incorporated not-for-profit organisation representing businesses within the Mornington Promotional Fund boundary.

We exist to bring businesses together, promote Mornington and create opportunities that no single business could achieve alone. For more than 17 years, we’ve worked alongside local businesses to strengthen Mornington as a vibrant place to shop, dine, visit and do business.

Whether we’re promoting the town, delivering events, advocating on behalf of businesses or creating opportunities for collaboration, everything we do is designed to support a thriving local business community.

What We Do

Working on behalf of the businesses we represent, the Mornington Business Collective:

Promotes Mornington as a destination to shop, dine, visit and do business.
Delivers destination marketing campaigns across digital, print and social media.
Coordinates events and activations that attract visitors and support local businesses.
Operates the Mornington Main Street Market, one of Victoria’s longest-running street markets.
Advocates on behalf of the local business community.
Provides networking, professional development and opportunities for businesses to connect and collaborate.
Builds partnerships that strengthen Mornington’s economy and sense of place.

The Mornington
Promotional Fund

Much of our work is made possible through the Mornington Promotional Fund – a collective investment made by businesses within the designated precinct and administered by the Mornington Chamber of Commerce under a Management Agreement with Mornington Peninsula Shire.
The Fund enables businesses to work together to deliver marketing, advocacy, events and initiatives that create a stronger, more vibrant Mornington. Together, businesses achieve outcomes that would be difficult to accomplish individually, ensuring Mornington continues to thrive for businesses, residents and visitors alike.

The Core Business Community

Our Membership

Businesses contributing to the Mornington Promotional Fund form the core business community represented by the Mornington Business Collective.
Under the Chamber’s Constitution, businesses contributing to the Promotional Fund are entitled to be included on the Chamber’s Register of Members. We encourage every eligible business to complete a simple Member Registration, helping us maintain an accurate Register of Members and ensuring businesses can participate in the governance of the organisation.
Businesses located in Mornington outside the Promotional Fund boundary are welcome to join the Mornington Business Collective as Associate Members, providing another way for local businesses to connect, collaborate and contribute to the success of Mornington.

Elected Volunteer Committee

Our Governance

The Mornington Chamber of Commerce is governed by an elected volunteer Committee of Management made up of fellow local business owners and operators, supported by a dedicated staff member responsible for the organisation’s day-to-day operations. An Event Assistant is engaged as required to support the delivery of major events and activations.

Together, our Committee, staff and members work collaboratively to ensure the Mornington Promotional Fund continues to deliver meaningful outcomes for the businesses and community we represent.
