Painted during lockdown in 2020, this piece is a reminiscing on all of the frivolous fancies that we couldn’t quite replicate over zoom. Garden parties in pretty dresses, dancing barefoot on the lawn trying not to spill your drink but spilling it anyway, grazing tables, cocktails on a January afternoon. It’s a reminder of the feelings of fun and spontaneity with the ones we adore.

Jacqi Russo is Mornington Peninsula artist and designer. Previously working in fashion design, her career now weaves painting and illustration with surface pattern design, with a focus on themes from nature and botany.
